Humans are primates, and primates are mammals, and so humans share a lot parenting behavior and reproductive biology with them. In this course we attempt to elucidate ways natural selection shaped the way we reproduce and take care of children and the consequences of different parenting strategies to child health and survival. We also examine related changes in female reproductive biology over the course of human evolution. Maternal and Child Health is for advanced students (junior standing and above) and graduate students. There are no prerequisite courses. |
